Juicers first crush, grind and then squeeze the ingredients to extract the juice from the pulp. The juicers may differ on how they extract juice by following specific steps but the concept is the same.

Also known as cold press juicers, slow juicers or single auger juicers. Masticating juicers are one of the best juicers with high efficiency and quality juicing results.

These juicers rotate the auger to crush the ingredients and squeeze the juice from the pulp.
Masticating juicers can be available in either vertical or horizontal juicers. Horizontal masticating juicers are large which juice without clogging as they have a pulp ejector.
The horizontal masticating juicers also require less food prep as they come with a wide chute enough to fit ingredients. It doesn’t need a lot of chopping before juicing the produce.

These types of juicers are very common in the market and come at a cheaper price. Centrifugal juicer run at high speeds of around 3000 to 16000 RPM.
One the product is fed into the juicer, the produce is chopped and then separates the juice through a straining basket.
The juice from a centrifugal machine isn’t quality and rich in nutrients as juice from masticating juicers but it is great.
The oxidation level is very high due to high RPMs which release more heat to the juice. This causes a loss of nutrients from the juice and short shelf life.
It is better to drink the juice immediately after juicing to maximize the benefits of the juice.

Speeds at twin gear juicers are slightly higher than that of masticating juicers. The machines can extract any kind of juice and it does a great job in extracting liquid from the hard fiber.

As the name suggests, manual juicers use force from the user to extract the juice from the ingredients. A lever is rotated by the user to produce force for the juice extraction process.
Once the juice has been squeezed, it goes through a mesh filter to separate the pulp. Depending on the type of manual juicers you find, the concept is the same.

The hydraulic juicers are one of the oldest types of juicers to exist which are great at extracting the most yield.
These juicers work by applying high pressures to squeeze them and extract the juice from the produce.
At around 6000 PSI, the ingredients are squeezed thoroughly resulting in very dry pulp and high juice yield.
Juicing with hydraulic press juicers requires chopping the produce into smaller chunks and place them in the bag or cloth.
The cloth acts as the mesh to keep the pulp from the juice. The juice comes very pure and rich in nutrients than any other type of juicer.
Hydraulic press juicers are very expensive and heavy to move around in the kitchen. The operation is slow due to the required prep before juicing and the use of cloth.
