Tips for How to Meal Prep Ground Turkey
As I’ve already mentioned, ground turkey is one of the best protein sources for meal prepping because it’s high in protein and easy to reheat.
I thought it’d be helpful to share some of the tips I’ve picked up over the years so that you can learn how to meal prep ground turkey as best as possible.
Get versatile – Ground turkey is super versatile and you can use it in Mexican, Italian, Asian food, and all kinds of stuff. Change up how you prep it and it’ll never be bland.
Use sauces – I highly recommend making some kind of sauce to go with the turkey to keep it moist. This makes it taste way better when you reheat it.
Load up the veggies – Ground turkey pairs well with almost all veggies. They’ll add flavor, fiber, and compliment the turkey.
Season it up – The easiest way to make ground turkey boring is to not season it enough. Use plenty of salt, pepper, and other spices on your next ground turkey meal prep to make it stand out!
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does turkey meal prep last?
Ground turkey usually lasts two to three days in the refrigerator. To get the longest out of it, make sure to cool it quickly and place it in the fridge.
Should you season ground turkey before cooking?
Yes, like any other type of meat, ground turkey should be seasoned beforehand. The best time to season it will salt is right before you start cooking it. If you season it too early, it will draw out the liquid and make the meat dry once it’s cooked.
Is ground turkey healthier than ground chicken?
Both ground turkey and chicken are lean and full of protein, and they’re both healthy meats! Turkey is slightly leaner and lower in calories than chicken, so turkey should be your go-to if you’re on a low-calorie diet.
